A Creative Space – Alexa’s Office

When we first looked at the house, Mike and I already picked out which would be our respective offices since we both work from home. In our 2-bedroom apartment we shared the one as an office, so as you can imagine it was a relief to finally get my own space. I knew I would need to do at least a bit of painting, and of course it was high on my priority list since I spend all day every day in here.

The Great Backyard Cleanup

Master Bedroom Carpet

First project of the new place! We wanted to rip this old shag carpet up before our bedroom furniture came. Mike spent 5 and half hours on friday night pulling up (what he claims were) a million staples. Good work, dear 🙂 It should be a crime to hide beautiful wooden floors under wall to wall carpet. 1973, you are under arrest!

New Septic

Unfortunately when we were in the inspection process we found out the 44 year old Septic system was not in the greatest shape. The drainfield was clogged with poopgunk and wasn’t draining fast enough. It was only a matter of time before complete failure. After some negotiating the sellers agreed to put a new one in. It was being finished when we settled, here are a few pics.
